Abstract :
This paper considers immersion of a nonlinear system into a rational-in-the-state representation (RSR) and a polynomial-in-the-state representation (PSR). Particularly, local observability is discussed for an RSR and a PSR after immersion. Adopting some concepts from graph theory, it is shown that, if a given system is immersible, immersions can always be constructed so that an RSR and a PSR are locally observable.
