Abstract
A technique is developed to design IIR filters to compensate digitally for the imperfections caused by signal reconstruction filters in an IQ modulation system. These IIR filters are obtained by posing the problem as an unconstrained optimization problem and solving it via H∞ optimization, for which there is ready-made software in MATLAB. The simulation results show that this technique is simple, efficient, and leads to substantial improvement of output envelope ripples.
