  • Abstract
In this paper the modelling and simulation of an induction motor, aiming towards accurate determination of the performance characteristics at different loading conditions is presented. For this purpose different analyzing methods, as circuit theory method. Finite element method and Matlab/Simulink method is applied. The complex modelling of the motor, in order to obtain the most suitable models for application of each of the proposed methods is carried out. The results of analytical and numerical calculations, as well as the simulations are compared with the experimentally obtained ones, and/or with the known values given by the producer. On the basis of the analysis of the results, each methods is going to be evaluated, and an improved approach to the induction motor analysis, will be proposed.
