  • Abstract
The paper studies the influence of machine parameters on the voltage regulation of interior-type permanent-magnet alternator with resistive load using the conventional two-axis machine theory. The necessary condition and sufficient condition of zero and negative voltage regulation are derived including stator resistance. The rule between the voltage regulation and machine parameters is found. The design method of low voltage regulation is proposed. The conditions are applied to analyze an actual machine and the calculation results agree with experimental results. A low voltage regulation interior-type permanent-magnet alternator is designed by finite element method combined with magnetic-equivalent-circuit method.
