Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an accurate mathematical model of high power induction machines for the transient studies. The proposed model takes into consideration the skin effect and stator and rotor leakage flux paths saturation. This model has been simulated using MATLAB/spl reg/ 6.1 program. In order to validate our model on both transient and steady-state regimes, an experimental test-bed with a 3-phase, 45 kW, delta-connected induction motor has been used. Finally, the stability of the experimental numerical results will be shown to prove the performance of the proposed model.
