Abstract :
In this paper, comparisons for synchronous reluctance with permanent magnet (SR-PM), switched reluctance (SR) and permanent magnet brushless (PMBL) DC machines are presented. According to theoretical analysis, performance simulation and prototype test, we obtain the different characteristics of the three type motors and confirm the SR-PM machines which possess high power density, high power factor, high efficiency, high torque capability in a wide speed range and redundancy structure. The SR-PM machine should be the best choice to the aero-motor in the electromechanical actuation system used for all-electric airplane.
