Abstract :
This paper presents a nonlinear model of magnetostrictive force for giant magnetostrictive actuators, which is based on the energy variation theory. The input current dependence of output force for the actuator has been calculated according the model by means of the finite element method. A comparison between the calculating result and experimental one for the actuator has been carried out and it is found that they are in a good agreement.
