Abstract :
This paper deals with the modelling of an induction machine taking saturation and skin effect in rotor bars (deep bar effect) into account. Nonlinearities in the model are represented in form of reactance versus slip characteristics that are obtained by means of finite element analysis. The features of developed model have been tested by simulation of a 30 kW induction motor start-up and verified by measurements.
