Abstract :
In this paper, a new low speed and high torque permanent magnet synchronous machine is designed and analyzed. To enable this machine applicable to direct drive of elevators, its performances at both no-load and full-load operation with sinusoidal pulse width modifying (SPWM) inverter supply are particularly focused. In order to achieve low-speed, the rotor adopted poly-poles and interior magnet construction. The distinct feature in design is special structure of rotor magnet poles which are analyzed using finite element software...ANSYS and the experiment results are given in the paper.
