Abstract :
The 3D high frequency eddy current field in a crucible is investigated in this paper by means of the finite element analysis. To tackle the rotational symmetrical geometry of the specified field problems, a new iterative procedure is proposed. The numerical results on a model problem with close-form solutions validated the proposed approach, and extensive numerical results of the 3D eddy fields in a prototype crucible are reported to facilitate the design of engineering crucibles.
