            Abstract : 
A complete model of field-circuit coupled for time-stepping finite element analysis is presented in this paper, which is used in analyzing self-start permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). Four technology are discussed: how to build difference equation, how to deal with the rotator movement, how to take account of the PM, and how to decrease the torque´s calculate error based on the field. Using this model, the transient starting performance and the torque shake in the steady state are analyzed.
