Abstract
Design of a permanent magnet generator is a nontrivial task. Suitable models need to be developed and used for reliable performance prediction. This paper provides evidence that carefully devised coarse circuit models can be used effectively during design for acceptable prediction accuracy. It also solicits the joint use of circuit and field models for enhanced prediction accuracy.
