  • Abstract
This paper describes an end-to-end QoS control method called the "priority promotion scheme" for interactive multimedia services such as VoIP and video chatting. In the case of overload, throughput degradation is an crucial issue, because this scheme uses a measuring mechanism for admission control. If its measurement flows cause congestion, all measurement will fail and it might be impossible to establish a following session. In this paper, we confirm such throughput degradation, propose three methods to ease measurement flow congestion, and show computer simulation results for evaluating them.
