Abstract :
The concept of linear estimation for SIMO systems was first presented by Slock (1994). Later a linear prediction channel identification algorithm was developed by Abe-Meraim et al. (1995). This blind channel identification algorithm uses only second order statistics, so it´s a breakthrough in this field and has been cited frequently by others. But the simulation of the algorithm developed by Abe-Meraim et al. (1995) shows that the channel couldn´t be identified because there is still needs other condition, which couldn´t be got for knowing nothing about the channel in the whole blind condition. This paper will analyze this algorithm and point out the reason that results in the failure of channel identification; and give the improved method that can resolve the problem in the digital communication system.
