Abstract :
Embedded systems need a low-cost and high-performance microprocessor. And Java has been used widely in embedded systems like smart card. But most general processors execute Java bytecode instructions inefficiently and difficulty in software based on "soft" Java Virtual Machines. Our 32-bit RISC with Java extension overcomes the conflict. The Java extension of RISC, based on a 32-bit RISC and easy to switch to a java processor, can spend less cost to obtain the capability of efficient executing of native RISC instruction and Java CVM bytecode instructions, which is convenient for consumers on many occasions and has better cost performance.
