Abstract
The methodology of IP reuse can improve the productivity of SoC development dramatically. But interfacing IPs which may have different pin structures, data widths or communication protocols is a tedious task. Designing a standard wrapper for each IP is a popular solution. Different from other interface synthesis approaches, this paper proposes a new approach to designing a PVCI-based wrapper. The proposed algorithm offers a base state machine platform on which designers can produce a FSM for a wrapper. This method has been employed to generate several real-purpose wrappers for IPs including VMI.
