Abstract :
In this paper we present a real-time infant telemonitoring system using Internet protocols. Client-Server model is used to develop the system. The sensor and associated electronics were designed and built. The sensor is safe, compact and noninvasive. Cardiopulmonary data from the infant is acquired, analyzed, stored and transmitted to the server application by the remote client application. The server application is used for monitoring, analysis and storage of data at a monitoring station. Chat windows are also provided for communication between the server and client. Provision to turn audio/video on by the server at the remote location is also provided. Role of handheld devices to acquire and view medical data from remote locations is also presented.
