Abstract :
This paper presents a telemedicine system capable of remote monitoring cardiac patients. It includes a device which transmits the patient ECG to a monitoring center using the short message service (SMS) and data service of a TDMA cellular network. The device works in conjunction with a cellular phone handset, allowing mobility to the patient.
