Abstract :
ZooMS (Zoom on Mobility of the Spine) is a noninvasive method to evaluate the mobility of the lumbar spine. The protocol is based on the optoelectronic technique of the ELITE system and it allows a real functional evaluation of several pathologies of the spine and assists in customizing the rehabilitation treatment. A normalcy database was created considering 20 healthy people (10 males and 10 females). These data were compared with 10 unhealthy subjects, who suffer from lumbar diseases, before and after the documentation based care (DBC), a rehabilitation treatment, which is also able to evaluate the spine mobility. The RoM (Range of Motion) assessed by ZooMS protocol were evaluated with the progression of the rehabilitation treatment through RoM calculated by DBC and other parameters that estimate pain and low back muscle fatigue. Results demonstrate that our protocol is able to join RoM´s information with the perception of pain and back muscular diseases.
