Abstract :
The context transfer proposal presented here is not only time efficient and flexible in choice of triggers, but also tightly integrated with fast handover mechanisms recently developed in IETF, allowing the flow of user´s application data while handover signaling and context transfer is taking place. One of the main strengths of the proposal is that it provides a choice in the degree of transport reliability support while using a lightweight transport such as UDP (TCP is not capable of providing such flexibility). The paper also highlights some the security issues, providing suggestions to overcome those issues.
