Abstract :
The paper deals with a CW500 watt Ka-band coupled-cavity TWT for digital satellite communication. The communication and power industries developed a PPM focussed coupled-cavity TWT for conduction cooled amplifier systems. The TWT can be operated at the 500 watt output level or backed off from saturation in the linear mode. The technology advances have been applied to the newly designed CW TWT radar systems.
