Enhancing electrical and information technology skills through TOSP

Transferable outreach skills programme (TOSP) offers an opportunity to university students to follow short courses within their studentship at the university in areas outside their registered programmes. Such TOSPs are delivered over 10 to 12 hours during the semester. In this paper, the authors have designed three TOSPs to enhance the students understanding of some practical areas in the fields of electrical installations, personal computer assembly and local area networks. This paper describes the programmes and discusses their outcomes on students with diverse educational backgrounds.
