  • Abstract
    In this paper, we present a algorithm for performing a symbol synchronization in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based radio relay system. The algorithm used to achieve synchronization for the OFDM/64QAM radio relay system is proposed. It does not exploit any pilot and cyclic extension. It only changes a phase of a symbol clock until it finds a exact location of a starting position of the symbol for Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). A Acquisition time is too long to apply to conventional OFDM system such as Wireless LAN (WLAN), Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) and Digital Video Broadcast (DVB). However, it is shown that it is suitable for the OFDM based radio relay system.
