Abstract
A rate control scheme (called RCS) using state feedback technique to support isochronous delivery in wireless COMA channel is presented. It is applied to a class-differentiated queuing mechanism to dynamically adjust the output rate of each service class so that its packet latency is under controlled. The queue length of each class is adopted as the state variable to determine its output rate adjustment. To analyze the performance of RCS, we investigate queue dynamics and packet latency in various traffics. It is proved that the latency of packets in a class is controllable by the operational parameters of RCS. Simulation results also demonstrate the advantage of packet latency guarantee.
