Abstract :
Today, corporations are feeling the impact as more users and powerful applications threaten to overwhelm network performance, which triggered a need for a corresponding increase in speed in network backbones and to corporate servers. Ethernet Links Bundling (EIB) provides a new high-speed networking solution which is used to improve the performance and the availability of the network subsystem. This paper presents an overview of the EIB technology and gives performance experimental results. The findings show that the network bandwidth can be scaled by the aggregation of multiple Ethernet links and more reliable network connectivity can be guaranteed and experimental results demonstrated that parallel channels of Fast Ethernet are both necessary and sufficient to support the data rates of multiple concurrent file transfers on file server.
