Abstract :
This paper summarizes some results from a study, which was made in the framework of the project "Least Cost Plan for Bulgarian Power Sector Development till 2020". Several cases for development of Bulgarian power sector are developed in it. The main assumptions for them are as follows: electricity demand forecast - two demand scenarios are used in the study. They are developed by different electricity intensity of GDP; - time for decommissioning of the old units in nuclear power plant Kozloduy - There are three options for decommissioning; - Different opportunities for electricity export in neighbour countries. In the paper, a comparative technical and economic analysis of the expansion plans by different cases is made.
