Abstract
In some recent papers, the object oriented approach has been applied to the distribution load flow problem. The features of the object oriented algorithm have been studied in the case of distribution systems with both radial and weakly meshed topologies. A simple load model has been used, with constant values of shunt active and reactive powers; in this paper, generalized load models are introduced to account for the load dependency on the supplying voltage amplitude. The effects of various load models on the distribution load flow solution and on the convergence characteristics of the object oriented algorithm are presented with reference to two test systems.
