Abstract :
Fiber optic power and signal transmission systems are discussed from the viewpoint of their application to DC powering to information tools such as personal computers. We discuss the system requirements and the technical issues of the system components including high power laser diodes and photovoltaic cells. We also discuss wavelength division multiplexing transmission of power and signal light.
