Abstract :
We present a prototype of an Internet-based system for the exchange of certificates for electricity generated from renewable sources. The system consists of hardware and software for the measurement of electric power produced or consumed and for transmitting requests to buy or sell certificates corresponding to the power produced or consumed a green certificates exchange system receives or distributes certificates according to demand. Users may interact with the system via a Web-based interface. The system has been implemented for a number of electricity producers and consumers and has proven to be very stable while being simple and cost-effective enough to be used by small-scale producers and consumers.
