Abstract :
ENEA, the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment, has been deeply involving in the Italian roof-top programme. On one hand, technical support is currently provided to both the Italian regions and the ministry for the environment and land protection, which was the founder of this initiative. On the other hand, experimental results coming from the ENEA institutional RD and D activity programme on distributed generation constitute a valid contribution to make the programme effective as much as possible and to achieve its foreseen long term goals. Technical specification issuing, dedicated regulations consulting, submitted projects evaluation, Web site and database arrangement, as well as training and advertising campaigns constitute some examples of ENEA support. Components characterization, new products development and innovative plant investigation are the main fields of ENEA experimental activities.
