Abstract :
In order to improve solar energy conversion efficiency (/spl eta/) of dye-sensitized solar cell, an optimization of TiO/sub 2/ photoelectrode for favorable light harvest efficiency (LHE) was conducted in terms of light scattering effect of TiO/sub 2/ film. Efficiency of solar cell as well as LHE was much improved by multi-layered TiO/sub 2/ photoelectrode composed of several layers having different mixing ratios TiO/sub 2/ nano-particles to light scattering TiO/sub 2/ large particles. In case of N719 dye-sensitized TiO/sub 2/ solar cell, the efficiency ( /spl eta/) of 8.7 % was obtained using an open cell. Moreover, 9.7 % as the highest efficiency was obtained by a sealed Black dye-sensitized TiO/sub 2/ solar cell with an anti-reflecting film under simulated AM 1.5 (100 mW/cm/sup 2/) irradiation.
