  • Abstract
The effect of electrospray-produced microdroplets on the condensation of polar vapor is investigated theoretically and experimentally with a steam condenser. The phenomena considered include the equilibrium of electrically charged microdroplets with the vapor phase, and the electrohydrodynamic vapor flow induced by the drift of charged droplets. The experimental investigation of electrospray-supported condensation confirms a significant, 57%, improvement in condensation rate.
