a-SiNet: the European Network on amorphous-silicon device technology

The European Network on amorphous-silicon device technology (a-SiNet) is a Thematic Network financed by the European Commission under the Growth Programme of the 5/sup th/ Framework Programme. The consortium includes 29 groups from 12 European countries. Some of the partners are groups from universities or research centres with a large experience in a-Si. Other participants are industrial companies either already manufacturing a-Si-based devices or interested in a-Si technology for new products. All applications of thin-silicon are present in the network scope and activities. The main actions are: annual workshops, a Web site (www.asi-net.net), the Thin-Silicon Newsletter, visits of scientists, exchange of students, and thematic meetings producing Strategy Reports on the different applications of a-Si. The network is open to the participation of any group or company.
