Abstract
It is expected that the enhanced-IMT2000 WCDMA cellular networks might open the possibility to use higher bandwidths than the 5 MHz specified in 3GPP. In this paper, the orthogonality factor (OF) for WCDMA downlink channel is characterized. The characterization is based on measurement results carried out at 2 GHz in microcellular environment. The impact of bandwidth on the OF is investigated for bandwidths of 5, 10, 20 and 30 MHz. The results of the investigations can be used in the assessment of downlink capacity of the WCDMA systems at different bandwidths.
