Abstract
With respect to soft-spectrum adaptation (SSA) UWB wireless system with multiband pulse waveform shaping and adaptation, we investigate a design scheme for pulse waveform optimization based on prolate spheroidal wave functions (PSWF). The PSWF-based pulse shaping is then applied to M-ary signaling for high data rate and multiple accessing environment expected by multiuser services. Moreover, double water-filling (DWF) method is combined with the PSWF-based pulse shaping for achieving high system capacity performance, efficient local power control and interference avoidance.
