Abstract
The analytical procedure based on LambertW solution of saturated gain equation was developed by E.J. Grace et al to calculate the variations of spatial mode profile in active medium with radially variable gain profile. In a case of a cavity consisted of active medium and passive Q-switch the similar iterative procedure was implemented, taking into consideration the same LambertW solution of saturable absorption equation for passive Q-switch. For a passively Q-switched laser operating near stability limit, the effective pulse width significantly varies with bare cavity parameters. Application of such approach for resonators including passive Q-switches and other nonlinear elements as OPO or Raman crystals is feasible and some examples are presented in this report.
