Abstract :
We demonstrated that nonstoichiometric defect control of photorefractive crystals is of key importance for the improvement of their properties and of device performance. Here we report periodic poling of near-stoichiometric MgO-doped lithium niobate (PP Mg:SLN) and the characteristics of quasiphase-matched second harmonic violet light generation in PP Mg:SLN pumped by a Q-switched Ti:sapphire laser.
