Abstract
Propagation of nonclassical light through a dispersing and absorbing multilayer dielectric plate is studied using the theory of quantization of the electromagnetic field in causal dielectric media. 3D input-output relations is derived, describing the medium by a stepwise constant, complex permittivity that satisfies the Kramers-Kronig relations and allowing for arbitrary additional atomic sources.
