Abstract :
This paper gives a detailed description of the design and packaging of thermally tunable fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) for access applications. We discuss the methodology of thermal sensing and control. We describe the detailed design of the low cost package, packaging process, thermal modeling and testing methodology. Performance testing of the developed FBG filter shows satisfactory tunability.
