  • Abstract
We describe a real-time center frequency hopping scheme in which the resonant frequency of an LC load is changed by switching binary weighted capacitors and where switching noise is canceled with compensation transistors and CML buffers. Simulation results employing 0.18-μm CMOS technology have verified that the center frequency is changed within 3 ns. A peak power gain of 17 dB and noise figure of 3.3 dB were simulated. This scheme is applicable to sub-100-nm reconfigurable radios.
