Abstract :
Summary form only given. DoCoMo´s Internet access from a mobile telephone is drastically growing and the total mobile Internet users are approaching 64 million out of which over 38 million, approximately 60%, is DoCoMo´s I-mode service users. In the span of only 4 years, since the I-mode service introduction in February 1999, the I-mode business has achieved unprecedented growth. I-mode traffic volume measured in packets is also growing year after year. Approximately 20% of ARPU (average revenue per user) is from the I-mode business. It is clear that I-mode, DoCoMo´s flagship mobile Internet access business is still growing while handset features and functionalities are enhanced and new services added. Providing a ubiquitous mobile multimedia environment where users can enjoy convenience and value is our goal at NTT DoCoMo.
