Abstract :
In this paper, segment selective repeat (SSR) is proposed as a novel retransmission strategy for turbo-coded hybrid automatic repeat request (TC-HARQ). Two SSR strategies based on mean log-likelihood ratio (M-LLR) and sign change of log-likelihood ratio (SC-LLR) are compared. Simulation demonstrates that SSR outperforms type-I HARQ in throughput while having similar bit error rate (BER) under Rayleigh fading channel. M-LLR based SSR also performs better than Type-II HARQ under block fading channel.
