Abstract :
Utilizing an approximate formula of the zero-order modified Bessel function of the first kind I0(x), we derive in this paper an approximate closed form of the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of a Rice random variable (RRV). Then Monte-Carlo method (MCM) is used to generate the RRVs. In order to validate the new method, the simulation results of both PDF of a RRV and BER of coherent BPSK (CBPSK) in slowly flat Ricean fading channels are presented in the paper. These results show that the simulation values can fit the analytical values very well.
