            Abstract : 
This paper presents a new programming interface library for IEEE 1394 video devices on Linux. The multi-threaded library is able to capture images independently and simultaneously from multiple cameras by a synchronous transmission with a point-to-point connection. A combination of this library and inexpensive IEEE 1394 devices with simple configurations can bring a low cost real-time vision system.
