Abstract :
This paper presents a nonlinear control approach to the MIMO system of a current source inverter (CSI) based static synchronous compensator (STATCOM). Here a nonlinear mathematical model of STATCOM installed in a transmission system is derived. Then, by input-output feedback linearization, a state feedback control law is obtained by pole placement. Simulation results clearly reveal the efficacy of the proposed controller.
