Abstract :
In an effort of improving productivity in the chemical industry, companies are introducing enhanced optimization and control technology into the enterprise management and plant operation. Potential benefit of optimization and control is big enough to challenge the control engineers. The domain where control engineers play an important role is spreading now. In this paper, key issues for the successful application of optimization and control technology are discussed.
