Abstract
An offset-compensated CMOS amplifier with low input capacitance and high gain, ideal for use as a comparator preamplifier, is presented. A capacitive coupling network is used to create a high-impedance load-stage that requires no additional common-mode feedback circuitry. Capacitors are small enough to be constructed using metal fringe structures, resulting in an efficient layout. Analysis, simulation results, and the layout implementation are presented.
