Abstract :
The present work is devoted to the design and implementation of wideband tunable oscillators and wide band converters in 0.18 μ CMOS technology for ultra wideband applications. The mixer circuits include a distributed MOSCap mixer, utilizing nonlinearity in MOSCaps, optimized for conversion gain in the 3-8 GHz frequency range, and a distributed FET mixer operating in the 1-8 GHz range. A novel approach to distributed oscillator design using non-uniform delays is proposed and an oscillator tunable between 3.7-10 GHz is designed. Simulation results for the oscillator and mixers are presented.
