Abstract :
This paper proposes a low power and fast waked up RC-oscillator that includes a POR circuit to detect the statue of the power supply, a const-Gm is used to generate the bias of a ring RC-oscillator and a clock control unit to ensure stable clock frequency output. A 1.2 MHz RC-oscillator has been designed and simulated. The test chip is fabricated in a 0.18 μm 1P3M standard CMOS logical process. The chip area is 130 μm×240 μm. Measurement results show the RC-oscillator with 3 μs waked up time and 27 μW power consumption for the 1.5 V power supply. Thus, the RC-oscillator is suitable as embedded wake-up circuit for the low power portable system.
