Abstract :
A generic rank order filter implementation is presented, which is based on a new, very simple Hamming Comparator (HC) circuit. The filter, being digital, exhibits the high performance and easy design typical of digital systems, while still presenting a hardware complexity that is linear in n (the number of inputs), leading to a compactness that nears that of its analog counterparts. Experimental results and VHDL code are also included.
